Role in the Realm
Breeders specialise in the controlled breeding and raising of Aldoria's creatures.
Rather than focusing on taming wild animals, Breeders work with creatures that have already been obtained and attempt to produce healthy offspring with desirable traits.
A successful Breeder may become known for particular creature bloodlines and can sell eggs, babies or fully raised animals to other players.
Breeders may focus on:
- Pairing suitable breeding creatures
- Producing eggs
- Raising newborn creatures
- Caring for babies and juveniles
- Developing creature bloodlines
- Managing breeding facilities
- Selling eggs
- Selling young creatures
- Breeding mounts
- Breeding livestock
- Breeding specialised working creatures
- Maintaining records of breeding lines if desired
Breeder and Beast Master should remain separate.
Beast Master = taming, training and handling creatures.
Breeder = reproduction, offspring and bloodlines.
A character with the Breeder hobby does not automatically gain permission to tame restricted creatures simply because they can breed them.
Choosing a Hobby
A character may choose one Main Profession and one Hobby. Hobbies provide additional roleplay and character flavour and do not share the same progression benefits as Main Professions unless specifically stated.
