How profession choices work
Main Profession & Hobby
Each character may have one Main Profession and one Hobby.
The Main Profession is the character’s primary working role and is the profession that can be levelled through progression, quests and tier rewards.
The Hobby is a secondary role chosen for additional roleplay and character flavour. Hobbies do not share the same progression benefits as Main Professions unless specifically stated.
A character may only have one Main Profession and one Hobby at a time.
Professions are intended to encourage trade, cooperation and interaction. Characters should not perform specialist duties belonging to professions they do not hold.
Blacksmiths shape the tools, weapons and equipment that keep communities working and protected.
Gatherers locate and collect the plants, fibres, materials and natural resources relied upon by every settlement.
Tailors turn cloth, leather and other materials into practical garments and distinctive clothing.
Hunters track game, understand the wilderness and help provide food and knowledge from the wild.
Traders connect communities through exchange, negotiation and the movement of useful goods.
Beast Masters build trust with animals and develop the skills needed to raise and train them.
Builders turn raw materials into homes, workshops, defences and the structures settlements depend upon.
Alchemists study materials and mixtures to support healing, craft and practical problem-solving.
Undertakers care for the dead and help families and communities honour those who have passed.
Healers preserve life through care, knowledge and practical treatment in difficult circumstances.
Farmers cultivate food and maintain the crops, fields and supplies that sustain settled life.
Scholars preserve knowledge, investigate Aldoria's mysteries and teach what they have learned.
Hobby Options
Optional Hobbies
Choose one optional hobby to add roleplay and character flavour to your character.
Each character may choose one Hobby alongside their one Main Profession.
Hobbies are secondary specialisations designed to provide additional services, businesses and roleplay opportunities.
Your Hobby does not replace your Main Profession and should not grant the same progression benefits as a Main Profession unless specifically stated by the server.
Characters are encouraged to work with other professions and hobbies rather than doing everything themselves.
Examples:
- A Builder constructs an Inn → an Artist decorates it → an Innkeeper operates it → a Bard performs there.
- A Beast Master obtains and trains a mount → a Breeder develops its bloodline → a Saddler provides its riding equipment.
- A Blacksmith creates a weapon → an Enchanter enhances it.
- A Farmer produces ingredients → an Innkeeper purchases them to serve customers.
