Overview

Aasimar are rare humanoids born carrying traces of celestial power within their blood. Their origins are debated throughout Aldoria. Some believe they descend from ancient unions between mortals and celestial beings, while others believe they are individuals touched by divine forces before birth.

Their appearance has caused many cultures to regard them as signs of hope, prophecy or divine favour. Others are more suspicious, believing that no mortal should carry such unusual power.

Despite these beliefs, Aasimar are individuals rather than chosen heroes. Being born Aasimar does not determine a person's morality, faith or purpose. Some dedicate themselves to protecting others, while others pursue wealth, knowledge, power, adventure or entirely ordinary lives.

Many Aasimar grow up under considerable expectations because of their appearance and heritage. Some embrace those expectations, while others spend their lives trying to escape them.

Appearance

Aasimar generally resemble Humans in height and body structure, but subtle supernatural traits distinguish them.

Common features may include unusually bright or reflective eyes, faintly luminous markings, pale gold or silver undertones to the skin, unusual hair colours and an almost unnatural clarity to their features.

Some Aasimar develop markings resembling constellations, rays of light, celestial symbols or delicate patterns across their skin.

These features vary greatly between individuals. An Aasimar does not need wings, a halo or visibly magical effects to be recognised as one.

Clothing varies according to culture and profession, although some Aasimar favour elegant fabrics, symbolic jewellery, ceremonial armour or items connected to their family or beliefs.

Limitations

Aasimar are not automatically stronger, wiser or more powerful than other humanoid races.

Their celestial heritage may influence their appearance and natural characteristics, but it does not grant unlimited magical ability.

Any combat skills, divine abilities, healing knowledge or magical powers must still come from the character's chosen class, profession, progression or approved server systems.

Aasimar may also face social pressure because of what others believe them to represent. Some communities may treat them with reverence, while others may distrust, fear or attempt to use them for religious or political purposes.

Their distinctive appearance can also make anonymity difficult in settlements where Aasimar are uncommon.

Aasimar characters should not be treated as automatically holy, immortal, chosen by a god or immune to ordinary dangers.

Maturity & Lifespan

Maturity Age: Aasimar generally reach adulthood at around 20 years of age.

Lifespan: Aasimar typically live between 120 and 180 years.

They mature at a similar pace to Humans during their younger years but often remain physically healthy for considerably longer.

Their extended lifespan does not automatically grant additional knowledge, status or power.

Traits & Culture

Aasimar do not possess a single unified culture. They are born throughout different regions of Aldoria and are often raised among Humans or other humanoid communities.

Because of this, an Aasimar's traditions, beliefs and behaviour are usually influenced more by where they were raised than by their celestial ancestry.

However, many Aasimar eventually become interested in their origins. Some seek ancient temples, religious orders, scholars or forgotten texts in an attempt to understand their bloodline.

Others deliberately reject celestial expectations and choose ordinary professions and lifestyles.

Aasimar culture therefore places strong emphasis on identity, purpose and personal choice rather than a single shared tradition.

An Aasimar may become a devoted healer or protector, but they may just as easily become a merchant, craftsman, hunter, scholar or adventurer.

Celestial ancestry does not determine alignment. Aasimar characters may follow any moral path permitted by the server.

COMMON ROLES / PROFESSIONS (OPTIONAL)

Aasimar often gravitate toward roles involving leadership, healing, knowledge, protection and service to communities, though individuals may follow any profession.

Suggested roles:

Healer
Scholar
Alchemist
Armorsmith
Weaponsmith
Merchant
Beast Master
Farmer

These are only suggestions. Aasimar characters may choose any profession permitted by the server.
