Blood Elf

Blood Elves are a rare Elven bloodline whose traditions revolve around ancestry, loyalty and sworn oaths. Much of their older history has been lost, but the principles that defined their people survived among those who reached Aldoria.

The name Blood Elf refers primarily to the importance they place on bloodlines and family ancestry, rather than an obsession with literal blood.

Blood Elves often have warm pale, bronze or lightly reddish complexions. Copper-red, black, deep brown and pale-blonde hair are common. Amber, gold, crimson and dark brown eyes are strongly associated with their bloodline.

Crimson markings, jewellery and family symbols are common. Burgundy, black, dark red and gold frequently appear in clothing and armour.

Blood Elves tend to be intense, proud and disciplined. They take promises extremely seriously and have little respect for those who repeatedly break their word. Family loyalty and personal reputation are highly important.

Blood Elves remain relatively rare within Aldoria and commonly live alongside other Elven communities. Many dedicate themselves to preserving old skills, traditions and family knowledge that might otherwise disappear.

Blood Elf culture centres around three principles:

Blood — Oath — Legacy

Blood represents ancestry and family.
Oath represents promises willingly made.
Legacy represents what an individual leaves behind.

Weapons, armour, jewellery and ceremonial markings may represent these principles. Important promises are sometimes made before family members or witnesses.

Blood Elves currently possess no established kingdom within Aldoria. Most live within mixed or Elven settlements, although small Blood Elf enclaves may eventually form as the realm develops.

Weaponsmith, Armorsmith, Alchemist and Beast Master. Warriors, hunters, historians and specialised craftsmen are also respected.

Blood Elves recognise Wood Elves, Dark Elves and Snow Elves as other branches of Elven ancestry despite their cultural differences. They often respect Dwarves for their appreciation of craftsmanship and inheritance. Tieflings may also find them more understanding of being judged because of ancestry.
