Overview
Dark Elves descend from Elven bloodlines accustomed to underground settlements, deep caverns and places where sunlight rarely reaches. Their traditions value discipline, knowledge and survival in environments unfamiliar to most surface peoples.
Appearance
Dark Elves commonly have grey, charcoal, muted purple or deep blue-toned skin. Silver, white and black hair are widespread, while their eyes may appear unusually bright. Dark leather, silver metalwork, black, burgundy and violet are common clothing choices.
Personality
Dark Elves are often reserved, calculating and slow to trust. Self-control is strongly respected. Family, loyalty and promises can be extremely important despite their secretive reputation.
How They Live
Dark Elves are naturally comfortable exploring caves, ruins and underground environments. Mining, fungi cultivation, crafting, hunting and exploration commonly feature in their communities.
Culture & Traditions
Knowledge, family history and careful record keeping are important. Names, promises and debts are taken seriously, and many believe forgotten history makes future generations vulnerable to repeating old mistakes.
Settlements
Dark Elves favour defensible caves, stone structures and underground ruins. In Aldoria, their settlements are still small and emerging rather than ancient established kingdoms.
Common Roles / Professions (Optional)
Alchemist, Armorsmith, Weaponsmith and Beast Master. Scouts, miners, traders and historians are also common.
Relationships With Other Races
Dark Elves often find common ground with Deep Dwarves, Cave Goblins, Unseelie Fae and Tieflings. Their relationship with other Elf bloodlines ranges from close kinship to cultural rivalry.
