Overview

Wood Elves descend from Elven communities whose traditions developed around forests and the natural world. In Aldoria they have adapted quickly to the vast unexplored woodland, becoming accomplished hunters, trackers and guides.

Appearance

Wood Elves commonly have brown, auburn, black or dark-blonde hair, with green, hazel and amber eyes being especially common. Their clothing favours leather, woven cloth, fur and natural woodland colours. Feathers, carved wood, animal tokens and subtle markings are often used as decoration.

Personality

Wood Elves are generally observant, patient and cautious around strangers. They value actions more than titles or wealth and can become fiercely loyal once trust is earned. They are particularly protective of places they consider their home.

How They Live

Hunting, gathering, small-scale farming, herbalism and animal keeping are common. Knowledge of tracks, plants, weather and animal behaviour is taught from an early age.

Culture & Traditions

Wood Elf culture values ancestry, storytelling and responsible use of the land. Hunters traditionally avoid wasting what they kill. Bows are especially significant, and many Wood Elves receive or craft one as part of reaching adulthood.

Settlements

Their settlements favour forests, hidden valleys and natural cover. Structures are commonly built around trees, cliffs and existing ruins rather than clearing large areas of land.

Common Roles / Professions (Optional)

Farmer, Breeder, Beast Master, Alchemist and Weaponsmith. Hunters, scouts, herbalists and guides are also common.

Relationships With Other Races

Wood Elves often get along well with Fawns and Wild Fae. They commonly trade with Humans, Halflings and Dwarves, although expanding settlements can create disputes over woodland territory.
