Overview
Frost Giants are northern Giant clans adapted to Aldoria’s frozen mountains, snowy plains and glacial valleys. They are known for patience, resilience and the ability to survive in extreme cold where many other races would struggle.
Appearance
Frost Giants often have very pale, blue-grey or cold stone-coloured skin. White, silver, pale blonde and grey hair are common. Their clothing relies heavily on thick fur, hide and layered fabrics, with bone, ivory-like materials and pale metals used for decoration. Many wear broad cloaks and heavy boots suited to snow.
Personality
Frost Giants tend to be reserved, disciplined and practical. They usually speak slowly and carefully and dislike pointless boasting. Loyalty to family and clan is extremely important, as survival in frozen environments often depends on cooperation.
How They Live
Hunting, fishing, animal keeping and seasonal migration are central to Frost Giant life. Food is preserved carefully, and settlements maintain large stores for harsh winters. Younger Giants are expected to learn survival, navigation and cold-weather shelter building from an early age.
Culture & Traditions
Endurance is highly respected. Surviving blizzards, long hunts or difficult journeys can carry more prestige than wealth. Stories are traditionally shared during long winter gatherings, where elders recount clan history and the deeds of ancestors.
Settlements
Frost Giant settlements are commonly found in glacial valleys, sheltered mountain basins and around caves protected from the wind. Buildings are made from stone, timber, packed snow and heavy hides, often with enormous communal halls at the centre.
Common Roles / Professions (Optional)
Beast Master, Breeder, Armorsmith, Weaponsmith and Farmer fit Frost Giant communities well. Hunters, fishers, guides and guards are also common.
Relationships With Other Races
Frost Giants often respect Snow Elves and Mountain Fawns due to shared experience with cold climates. Dwarves are valued trading partners for metalwork. Trolls and other Giants may be treated cautiously where food and territory are limited.
