Overview

Mountain Giants are the most widespread Giant bloodline in Aldoria, inhabiting remote highlands, rocky valleys and vast mountain passes. They are known for immense physical strength, endurance and a deep connection to the landscapes they call home. Despite their intimidating size, many Mountain Giant communities are peaceful unless threatened.

Appearance

Mountain Giants are enormous, heavily built and rugged in appearance. Their skin tones commonly range from tan and weathered brown to muted grey. Thick hair, heavy beards and broad facial features are common. Their clothing is usually made from fur, leather, hide and heavy woven cloth, with large belts, bone ornaments and carved stone jewellery.

Personality

Mountain Giants are often calm, deliberate and slow to anger. They value strength, honesty and endurance, and usually dislike needless arguments. When provoked, however, their anger can be difficult to stop. They tend to respect people who prove themselves through action rather than status.

How They Live

Hunting, livestock keeping, stonework and gathering form the basis of most Mountain Giant communities. Many live semi-nomadic lives, moving between valleys as seasons change. Others settle around mountain lakes, caves and sheltered plateaus.

Culture & Traditions

Feats of endurance and strength hold great cultural value. Important journeys, successful hunts and acts of protection are remembered through stories, carvings and personal trophies. Elders are often respected for wisdom and experience rather than purely physical power.

Settlements

Mountain Giant settlements are typically built in wide valleys, cliffside plateaus and around large cave systems. Structures are huge, simple and practical, made from massive timber, stacked stone and hides. Settlements are often spread out rather than densely packed.

Common Roles / Professions (Optional)

Beast Master, Breeder, Farmer, Armorsmith and Weaponsmith fit Mountain Giant culture well. Hunters, builders, guards and animal handlers are also common.

Relationships With Other Races

Mountain Giants often respect Mountain Fawns and Dwarves for their ability to survive harsh terrain. Humans and Halflings may be viewed with curiosity due to their smaller size. Trolls can be allies, rivals or dangerous neighbours depending on territory.
