Overview

Lowlanders are Humans whose traditions originate from fertile plains, river valleys and settled agricultural communities. They are among the cultures most comfortable building permanent villages and organising the food production necessary for larger populations.

Appearance

Lowlanders possess no unique physical traits. Their clothing tends toward linen, wool, leather and practical working garments. Farmers, craftsmen and guards often wear simple clothing suited to everyday labour, while decorative embroidery or family symbols may appear during gatherings and ceremonies.

Personality

Lowlanders are generally practical, community-minded and adaptable. They often value stability and cooperation, believing that survival improves when people organise rather than act alone. This can make them natural settlement builders and administrators.

How They Live

Agriculture, livestock keeping, crafting and local trade form the foundation of Lowlander life. In Aldoria, they are particularly important to the transition from temporary survivor camps into permanent settlements capable of supporting larger populations.

Culture & Traditions

Seasonal celebrations, harvests and communal work remain central traditions. Lowlanders often measure prosperity through food stores, healthy animals and the security of their settlement rather than personal wealth.

Settlements

Lowlanders favour fertile plains, river valleys and areas with reliable water. Their communities typically develop around farmland, barns, workshops and defensible central gathering areas.

Common Roles / Professions (Optional)

Farmer, Breeder, Armorsmith, Weaponsmith, Saddlesmith and Alchemist all fit Lowlander culture well. Builders, traders, guards and craftsmen are also common.

Relationships With Other Races

Lowlanders commonly interact with Halflings, Hill Dwarves and Fawns through farming and trade. They generally accept other races who contribute to settlement life, although disputes may emerge when expanding farmland reaches territory claimed by woodland peoples.
