Overview

Infernal Tieflings are the most recognisable Tiefling bloodline in Aldoria, known for their crimson skin, sweeping horns and strong association with old infernal ancestry. Despite the stories surrounding them, Infernal Tieflings are not born evil. Many live ordinary lives as craftsmen, traders, warriors and scholars, although their appearance often causes strangers to judge them before learning who they are.

Appearance

Infernal Tieflings commonly possess red, deep crimson, rust or dark scarlet skin. Their horns vary greatly in shape and may curve backward, upward or around the sides of the head. Black, dark brown and deep red hair are common, while their eyes may appear gold, amber, red or unusually bright. Tails are widespread among this bloodline. Clothing often features black, burgundy, bronze and gold with elaborate leatherwork and metal decoration.

Personality

Infernal Tieflings are often confident, determined and fiercely independent. Many develop strong personalities after spending their lives dealing with suspicion from outsiders. They tend to respect people who judge them by their actions rather than their appearance and can be intensely loyal to those who earn their trust.

How They Live

Infernal Tieflings can be found throughout Aldoria rather than within one single homeland. Some form their own neighbourhoods or communities while others live among Humans, Orcs, Goblins and other races. Trade, smithing, mercenary work, alchemy and skilled crafts are common ways of life.

Culture & Traditions

Personal identity is extremely important within many Infernal Tiefling families. Horn decorations, jewellery, tattoos and clothing may be used to represent ancestry, family or important achievements. Many communities place great importance on choosing one’s own path rather than allowing old bloodlines to determine a person’s reputation.

Settlements

Infernal Tieflings are often found in mixed settlements, trade towns and fortified communities. Where they establish their own districts, architecture tends to favour dark stone, warm firelight, decorated metalwork and enclosed courtyards. Their settlements are generally practical rather than deliberately ominous.

Common Roles / Professions (Optional)

Weaponsmith, Armorsmith, Alchemist, Beast Master and crafting-oriented roles fit Infernal Tieflings particularly well. Traders, guards, mercenaries and scholars are also common.

Relationships With Other Races

Infernal Tieflings often get along well with Goblins, Orcs and Dark Elves who are accustomed to being judged by reputation or appearance. Humans and Elves vary greatly in how they treat them. Seelie Fae and more isolated communities may initially be cautious, while individuals who trade regularly with Tieflings often view them no differently from anyone else.
