Canopy climbers and ambush trappers who coat darts in venom, ride forest beasts, and hoard shiny trophies.
Forest Goblins inhabit Aldoria’s dense woodland, marsh edges and overgrown ruins. They are expert trappers and scavengers who rely on mobility and knowledge of the terrain rather than direct confrontation. Their communities are often dismissed as chaotic by outsiders, but Forest Goblins possess detailed knowledge of local animals, plants and hidden paths.
Forest Goblins usually have green, olive or moss-coloured skin, helping them blend naturally into woodland environments. Brown, black and reddish hair are common. Their clothing uses leather, patched cloth, hides, leaves and camouflage-like materials. Feathers, teeth, coins and animal bones are frequently worn as decorations.
Forest Goblins are often energetic, curious and opportunistic. They enjoy bargaining, collecting unusual objects and finding clever ways around problems. They can be difficult to predict, but usually respect individuals who prove themselves useful, entertaining or difficult to fool.
Hunting, trapping, gathering, small farming plots and scavenging support most Forest Goblin communities. They are particularly skilled at constructing snares, hidden paths and temporary camps. Many follow seasonal food sources and relocate if an area becomes unsafe or exhausted.
Stories, jokes, competitions and trading are important parts of their culture. Young Goblins may compete to build the best trap, recover the strangest item or sneak closest to a dangerous creature. Cleverness is admired greatly, particularly when it prevents unnecessary fighting.
Their settlements are commonly hidden beneath tree cover, inside ruined structures or around rocky forest outcrops. Wooden platforms, rope walkways, tents and patched-together huts allow communities to expand quickly without requiring permanent stone construction.
Beast Master, Breeder, Farmer, Alchemist and Weaponsmith fit Forest Goblin communities well. Trappers, hunters, scouts, traders and scavengers are also common.
Forest Goblins often trade with Orcs, Halflings and Humans when profitable. Wood Elves and Fawns may tolerate them if they avoid damaging protected forests, though relationships can become hostile when Goblin traps or scavenging cause problems. Larger races sometimes intimidate them, but Forest Goblins rarely remain somewhere they cannot escape.
